2026
Summer
Internship
Program

During my internship at Nourishing Bethesda, I’ve had the opportunity to help at the choice market, assist with gleaning food products, and talk with clients to ensure they feel welcomed. I also contribute to projects aimed at improving the client experience and helping the organization serve more people in an efficient way. I enjoy working with the staff and other volunteers, who make the environment energetic and fun! This internship has been meaningful because it allows me to connect directly with community members and strengthen programs that provide accessible food resources.
— Taylor, 2025-2026 Intern

Each year, Nourishing Bethesda offers structured internships for high school and college students in the field of food insecurity. Students can expect to learn about all aspects of non-profit work, including logistics, food sourcing, food recovery, food drives, and management. In addition, interns will become conversant with the politics and impact of food insecurity in Montgomery County.

Interns will be expected to commit to two weeks of volunteerism before or after their allotted internship dates.

This year, our internship will be hosted between the dates:

June 22nd - August 21st, 2026

Interns will be eligible to count their hours toward SSL requirements. These are unpaid positions.
